How did you get started doing what you do?
I first started doing weddings in 2011 at a lodge in Alaska the summer I turned 21. The lodge I worked at executed 10 weddings my first summer there and from then on I've been hooked. Rose to the Occasions was founded in 2019 when I met my husband. He was the one who encouraged my passion for wedding planning and to break free from the 9-5 rut

Who or what continues to inspires you?
My inspiration comes from the couples who trust me to help with their most important day. It's amazing to see how my couples choose to reflect their personalities in their weddings.

What makes your business unique?
My experience working in several different wedding fields such as florals, catering, photography, and logistics. I'm able to offer my clients a unique understanding of different vendors.

How would you describe your ideal couple?
My ideal couple is hands on with the wedding planning process. They know what they want and trust me to execute their vision while providing valuable input of what they want.

Favorite part of a wedding?
The speeches! I cry every time hearing how loved the couples are by their loved ones and how the couples love inspires others in their lives.

Why do you do what you do?
As a guest I can't tell you how many weddings I attended where no one was in charge. The bride is overwhelmed trying to remember what comes next and still trying to enjoy her day. I started Rose to the Occasions to ensure that no bride has to experience that. It's important to me that brides and grooms are able to enjoy their day knowing that their vision is being executed.

What question do you always ask the Bride & Groom?
How did you two meet?

What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?
Starting my own wedding planning business! Sometimes I catch myself thinking "Wow, I'm actually doing this!"

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?
Taking my frenchies to the dog beach in Avila, going wine tasting, or taking a drive with my husband.

Tell us about your first job?
My first job was at Olsen's bakery in Solvang during high school. My uniform was the traditional red Danish skirt, bib, and hat. I can't tell you how many tourists got a picture with me in that outfit.

Tell us one thing few people know about you?
I'm a huge astrology nerd. Whenever I find out someone's birthday it helps me understand (almost) their entire personality.

Wedding trend that you're loving right now?
Orange color schemes!

Favorite quote?
"Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait."
This is from the poem Psalm of Life by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. My mom would recite this to my brother and I every morning when she woke us up for school because it was the only part of the poem she could remember!

Wedding trend that will hopefully be out next year?
Livestreaming. I hope with the new year more people will be able to travel and there won't be as much of a need for livestreamed events.

What's in the top 5 of your bucket list?
1. Buying a house

2. Visiting Paris during the off season

3. Riding the Napa Wine Train

4. Starting a big family

5. Seeing the penguins in Antartica
