How did you get started doing what you do?

I started in this industry out of high school primarily doing color clients. When I did my first wedding I just loved it. It was so much fun and super rewarding to be a part of a brides special day. Over the years I have focused on bridal hair and makeup and it has influenced my career in such an amazing way. I have since opened 2 salons that focus on weddings, with my first salon in Metro Detroit and my newest location here in SLO. We have grown a great team of artists to accommodate large wedding parties. This is truly a passion of mine and Im excited to connect with local artists and couples!

Who or what continues to inspires you?
Other artists inspire me. Watching the trends change over the years is really inspiring. This industry is always changing and progressing and its fun to try new things.

What makes your business unique?
Our business puts everything into our weddings. We love what we do and it is a true passion of ours. We tailor every appointment uniquely to our brides. We make changes to our business as necessary. We have a team of artists so we are able to work more efficiently and can take on any wedding party size. We are pride ourselves with our organization and use high end professional only products that will last!

How would you describe your ideal couple?
We don't have an ideal couple. We love all brides! We travel locally and outside of the local area. Every bride is unique and we love that!

Favorite part of a wedding?
My favorite part of a wedding is when we get to see the special moments of the brides morning. We are with the bride and the wedding party in the morning until she is ready to get into her dress. We get to be apart of helping the bride feel beautiful! It's special and at times emotional. Working in this industry is truly a dream job.

What question do you always ask the Bride & Groom?
There are a lot of details we need to plan her day of hair and makeup with our team. Most importantly we need to know, the location of the wedding we're traveling to, the desired finish time to plan the day with our artists, and the # of hair and makeup services.

Why do you do what you do?
This is a unique industry and very intimate and personal. We get to be apart of something so special- a couple celebrating their love! In addition, helping the bride get ready and feel beautiful on her wedding day is an honor. Its fun!- The morning of the wedding is always a blast and we're so thankful to be apart of it.

What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?
I am such a driven person when it comes to something I am passionate about. I continue to grow as an artist and business owner helping other artists in this industry learn, and of course helping our brides with the services we offer. Having a business that allows me to do that is a huge accomplishment! My greatest accomplishment would have to be opening my salons. It has been an emotional and hard journey at times as a business owner but it's been a great journey. My first salon I opened is located in Metro Detroit and we grew so much that we opened our newest location here in SLO. Our newest location here in SLO is special to me because this is my home state- I grew up in Los Angeles and my family has since moved here. SLO is such an amazing community and I'm honored to be apart of the wedding community. I enjoy the travel weddings which is why that is such a big part of our business- we travel throughout the central coast and sometimes farther. I am just so thankful to do what I love and help the local wedding community.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?
I enjoy sending time with my family. I have 2 girls so we are always usually doing something fun like the beach, hiking, local attractions. We love to travel so we do a lot of that too!

Tell us about your first job?
My first job was right out of cosmetology school at a salon in Metro Detroit. I started off renting a chair as an independent artist. I learned a lot and it paved my way to continue to grow and gave me the confidence to do it.

Tell us one thing that few people know about you?
Related to the salon industry- It has been a long and at times emotional journey to where I am now. There were many times I just want to give up because of the ups and downs of personal life and business ownership. The past 5 years has been crazy with the amount of stuff that we had on our plate. I got married and had our second little one, then bought our 1st house, and decided lets open a salon! That was a tough year because we had our doors open for 1 week and Covid shut us down for 4 months. It was tough but we made it through. Giving up crossed my mind but it never really was an option because I don't give up! I love this industry and I am thankful for the opportunity to do what I love.

Wedding trend that you're loving right now?
Boho hairstyles!

Favorite quote?
Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and its better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring. -Marilyn Monroe

Wedding trend that will hopefully be out next year?
Im hoping the Boho is here to stay!

What's in the top 5 of your bucket list?
1. Hair show in Chicago!

2. Continue education.

3. Do a wedding outside the country.

4. Open a 3rd location.

5. Donate our services to Wish Upon A Wedding.

Where do you see yourself (or business) in the near future?
I hope to open a 3rd location.
