Commemorate your love with your partner with a fun and unforgettable event that represents your relationship in the most personalized and intimate way. For this beautiful couple. that means sparkly cowgirl boots and vintage western flare. In this styled shoot, we highlighted the unique aspects of the new Templeton event venue, The Templeton Mercantile, and all of its country styled glory. Every detail was captured by the talented Fresno and San Luis Obispo wedding photographer Ellie Koleen and designed by San Luis Obispo wedding coordinator Zest It Up with the help of incredible Central Coast vendors. I had the pleasure of interviewing Samantha with Zest It Up about the special day.

The Vision

"For this shoot we envisioned a couple that was already in love for many years, maybe a few kids in and ready to continue to celebrate their love for each other with a vow renewal. The scene was set for an intimate ceremony and dinner party with close loved ones. When you walk into the Templeton Mercantile you immediately are transported into a historic western saloon. From the warm wooden accents to the taxidermy greeting you, this western gem is ready to host an unforgettable celebration! I wanted to capture the history and essence of the space (rustic, leather, wood, moody) and elevate this for a vow renewal that was like no other. From the playful fringe bling on the brides jean jacket to the bright colored florals, disco balls and cow hides- this western saloons meets Dolly Parton for the perfect balance of classy western glam."

The Inspiration

"Dolly Parton, pink sherbet hues, modern touches, playful patterns, bling, lace & leather, disco bling."

The Details

"I was excited to create an intimate vow renewal that would showcase the historic Templeton Feed & Grain. This 105 ft hight structure built in 1946 serves an an iconic reminder of endurance- this building alone has been through 13 U.S. Presidential administrations, multiple wars, economic upheaval, earthquakes and even a fire! Yet here it is as a backdrop and reminder that though community, hard work and a great foundation- it is thriving! I couldn't think of a better symbol and inspiration to tell the love of your life a vow of endurance for the long haul. I wanted to of course bring a little western glam to this tall grey tower, so naturally we brought in a handcrafted geometric double triangle and adorned it with some florals to really pop against the grey. I love how the cow hides brought the perfect pattern to their western wedding as well.

I was excited to get a little funky with the reception dining tables and mix lots of patterns, textures, colorful candles, and height elements! With a brick and black wood backdrop, the scene was set- a modern touch but still western. I brought in some sleek black chairs to accentuate the modern nods but contrasted with a sequin runner and glimmering candle light tapers to draw your eye up to our Water Buffalo smiling down in all his glory. Adorning both tables with bright bursting blooms- we needed some Kacey Musgrave vibes to elevate the existing western space. Next I decided to get playful with floral plates stacked amongst blush chargers and sexy soft velvet napkins spilling over the table as if they were handkerchief bandannas themselves."
