Adelita Candelaria is the talented owner of Beauty Goes Everywhere, a beauty business where she combines her skills as a self-taught makeup artist and licensed esthetician. Her passion for makeup began at a young age, inspired by the timeless glamour of Old Hollywood, iconic female muses from art and film, and the bold, expressive beauty of music videos. This personal love for transformation and empowerment led her to pursue a career in makeup artistry, where she now helps brides and clients feel like the best version of themselves on their special day. After spending 21 years honing her craft in San Francisco, Portland, and Denver, Adelita has made her home on the beautiful Central Coast in San Luis Obispo. With a unique blend of artistry and skincare expertise, she brings a personal touch to each client, making her a valued member of the local beauty and wedding community.

What specific services do you offer?

Bridal Makeup application, Event Makeup application, Makeup lessons and consultations

How did you get started doing what you do?

I was inspired to learn how to do makeup from old movies, film and music videos. I was in awe of how these beautiful transformations took place on the camera and I decided that I would teach myself how to do the same thing. I started practicing on myself, then my friends and family and it eventually led to where I am today.

What inspires your work in the wedding industry?

Everything artistic and beautiful. I am inspired by everything around us-materials, textures, lighting pigments, etc.

How would you describe your ideal couple?

Modern, elevated and cool and classic.

Favorite part of a wedding?

The experience of transformation. All of the moving parts that make up this one big enormous day. All of the incredible vendors that help contribute to such an amazing experience. The beautiful clients we get to work with and getting to make their vision come to life. It's just so fantastic to be apart of all of it!

How  do you ensure that each wedding you work on feels unique?

Each wedding is unique inherently. The experience is shaped by the individual personalities I get to interact with, the different love stories I get to hear, different cultural backgrounds and the fun nuanced details that couples share. When doing makeup, I think it's just that much more intimate, every bride that sits in my chair I will remember forever, the features of their face, their smile, etc. We are sharing this one moment in time where we get to create something beautiful together.

What advice do you give couples during the planning process?

I tell all of my brides I am only one aspect of the beautifying process for their big day. It's important to take care of their skin, be hydrated and get good rest leading up to their wedding day.

What has been one of your most rewarding experiences as a wedding vendor?

I think I would have to say it's all encompassing: the transformation, the artistic aspects, seeing my bride's reaction, creating memories and making friendships. I get to be apart of all of it, it's pretty fantastic.

What trends are you seeing in weddings right now, and how do you incorporate them?

For brides in 2025, we are definitely seeing a nod to a lot classical renaissance and vintage bridal looks, but still updated and fresh: Corsets, bows, satin, etc. The makeup that accompanies these looks I think is feeling a lot more romantic. Subtle beauty, but still statement. Also, I think we are trending seeing a focus on one specific feature on the face, like really making the eyes pop, or brows, or lips--not having the features compete with one and another.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

Honestly, I work a lot and weddings are so social, I appreciate getting a moment to stand still and be quiet and reflect. I enjoy having some wine, relaxing in good weather hanging out with my two frenchies or maybe taking a walk and listening to music. I like going out to a nice dinner with my husband, maybe a movie at the Palm, things like that.

Tell us about your first job?

My first job was working at one of the first woman-owned art galleries in San Francisco. I got my degree in Art History and Visual Arts. It definitely inspired me to make art, not just sell it.

Tell us one thing few people know about you?

I was once grounded from pizza. It was pretty traumatic. A whole 3 weeks without my favorite food. A core memory, for sure.

Favorite quote?

"I walked outside and rubbed some sunshine on my face. It felt good. I'm going to have a good day today."

What's in the top 5 of your bucket list?

Mostly traveling and eating in various parts of the world.

Where do you see yourself (or business) in the near future?

Continuing to provide exceptional experiences for all of my brides on the central coast and beyond. Also, perhaps adding another business component to Beauty Goes Everywhere, stay tuned...
