In a world where moments often fade as quickly as they bloom, some artists create magic by preserving memories in the most delicate and timeless ways. Meet Katie with Pressed Petal Co., a creator who transforms the fleeting beauty of flowers into lasting works of art. Specializing in pressed petals and wedding bouquet preservation, Katie breathes new life into cherished blooms, turning them into stunning keepsakes. From handcrafted wall art to intricate framed designs, each piece is a testament to love, celebration, and the natural beauty of flowers. I had the pleasure of interviewing Katie and hearing more about her work.
Let's dive into her unique craft and discover how these preserved petals tell stories that last forever.
What inspired you to start this business?
"My mom has had her wedding bouquet framed on her bedroom wall for 25 years. I've always loved it and knew I wanted to have my bouquet preserved one day. When I was getting married in 2019 I had a really hard time finding a preservation artist. I finally found someone across the country and ultimately didn't love the final result. In 2020 I decided to make my dream a reality for other brides and The Pressed Petal Co was born!"
Can you tell us more about what Pressed Petal Co. has to offer?
"At The Pressed Petal Co. we preserve your fresh (or dried!) flowers from your big day and create a piece of art that will last a lifetime. We offer a wide variety of styles and frames to perfectly match your aesthetic."
What is your process for getting to know a customer's vision and turning it into a reality?
"While I have a few set styles that I tend to stick to I absolutely love when a bride requests something new and different! I typically ask for photos or sketches of what they have in mind and will offer a mock-up prior to sending out their frame to ensure we have nailed their vision!"
Can you describe one of your favorite designs?
"I absolutely love the Modern Press! This style is meant to look more like a meadow or field of flowers vs an actual bouquet. It is such a fun piece of art to display in your home! This style works well with smaller, daintier flowers and a lot of greener which also tend to preserve better than larger bulkier flowers."
