Kaiana and Joey tied the knot at the intimate and gorgeous downtown San Luis Obispo wedding venue The Penny. Kaiana utilized her creativity and showcased her and Joey's personalities through their DIY wedding decorations. With delightful dried florals by San Luis Obispo floral shop Idlewild Florals, colorful yet cohesive bridesmaid dresses, and vibrant table scapes, the wedding was a lovely rainbow in the midst of moody weather. How did the wedding design express the couples love story?
"Most of the decor was made by Kaiana and represents different aspects of their relationship. These two pretty much grew up together, so a lot of the pieces remind them of home and where they fell in love."
The Vision
"I made the creative choice to just lean into Joey and Kaiana's creative vision! The theme of the Wedding was "On Cloud 9" and Kaiana created most of the decor herself. Everything had a very vintage 70s feel and I decided to embrace that in the images and video. I'm in love with with how everything turned out. Joey and Kaiana did amazing!"
The Details
"Some of our favorite details were the decorations, Kaiana (The Bride) made most of the reception decor herself! Also, the wedding was the day after a huge storm and the clouds, creeks, and green grass were gorgeous!"
Memorable Moments
"Their first looks with the hills in the background was so pure and gorgeous. The dancing at the end of the night with all their close buds was amazing to experience. Great energy from everyone there."
How did this wedding differ from any other wedding you've done?
"I've shot beautiful wedding but this was my first big photo/video wedding and I absolutely love creating both. I think they fit together perfectly."
