Get whisked away to a whimsical modern wildflower photo shoot designed by an incredibly talented group of Central Coast creatives. This shoot took place at the ethereal Paso Robles Lavender Farm and holds a special kind of fairytale atmosphere that Elle Render Events could use as a canvas for her vision. I had the pleasure of interviewing the wedding planner Jennifer about the day.

The Vision

"I recently formed a friendship with Ally Magda who is an amazing photographer and owns Paso Robles Lavender Co. It is a gorgeous property just tucked right off the 46 West on your way passed all the beautiful vineyards and right before you get to the coast. It doesn't get more beautiful than that. There is a magical moment where the timing is just right on her property and you experience the most gorgeous burst of blooming wildflowers followed by her harvest of lavender. It doesn't seem real. Vibrant colors surround you and at dusk the wind hits just right and it feels like you have been transported to something that could not even be real. It is just that beautiful. I was awestruck the first time I visited. The vision was to whimsically embrace the surroundings and interpret that in the form of table settings - one soft and feminine and one more modern and edgy. We did the same for our models. One more ethereal with soft hair, clean, makeup, and flowing dress to catch the wind in her veil. We then followed it up with our model Becca who Chelsea from CC Beauty Mark styled more edgy with a twist updo, a little rock and roll. Form fitting dress, smoky eye, bright orange velvet chairs, clean modern tablescapes with a pop of purple napkins and clear acrylic name cards."

The Inspiration

"Color, color, and more color! My mind instantly races to all the different dinner parties and brunches that I want to throw here, drawing in the colors from the flowers and the surrounding mountains and vegetation. That is the inspiration for the shoot. This was my take on what I envisioned a small elopement dinner party or rehearsal dinner could look like on this gorgeous property with the surrounding colors. When I see vibrant colors like this, oranges and purples, I want to design more modern and masculine spaces with edge, but the gentleness of the wind going through the brush and femininity of the florals around me drew me to do something softer, so I did a little of both."

The Details

"I loved the old mercedes car that just sits on the property, so we decided to pop the trunk and Sunny from the Floral Parlor filled with flowers for the shoot. I also loved the lounge pieces from Scout Rentals. They fit the shoot perfectly and we're key to a lot of the shots."
