Sarah and Scholtz's wedding was dripping in elegance, showcasing their classy taste in modern design that states as a background for whimsical florals set up by California florist Taylor Anne Co and decor details set up by Shimmer and Stain Event Design. The beautiful couple tied the knot on a perfect day at Sarah's parents home and almond farm in Modesto, with natural photo opportunities at every corner. Everything was coordinated by Modesto Wedding Planner Kylie Dawn Events and captured perfectly by Peyton Byford Photography.

I had the pleasure of interviewing the bride and asking her all about her special day. Keep scrolling to see the stunning photos and hear their love story.

Their Love Story

"We went to high school together, but we didn't start dating until after he had finished college and I was in my last year. From the start we both knew we wanted to be together forever, it was a perfect match! We've been together for almost three years. He proposed to me with his grandmas diamond at a winery in Healdsburg, CA. It was a perfect day!"

Color Theme

"White and pale neutrals. I went with these because I wanted flowers that were colorful and I wanted them to be able to stand out."

The Details

"We wanted our wedding to be simple, elegant, and modern. Our photographer, who I had dreamed of having for years, had shot a wedding in the past and the flowers stood out to me. That's what I based my initial vision off of. Flowers. I wanted everything to be white or neutral, and have flowers that were just fun and vibrant. Signage was something I wanted to stand out as well. My husband is from South Africa so I wanted our seating chart to incorporate that, so we had a black and white world map with SA and CA outlined."

Memorable Moments

"Marrying my husband, celebrating with everyone we loved, and just seeing our wedding day come together was what I was most excited for. The most memorable moment that stood out to me was our first look, I couldn't wait for him to see my dress! It was such beautiful emotional moment seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day."

Knowing what you know now... what advice would you have for other brides planing their wedding?

"Good food at a wedding is a game changer! Do hair and makeup trials. Get things done in advance, and don't stress the little things. Hire a videographer so you have those memories not only in photos but so you can watch it over the years. Try to sit back and take your wedding day in as much as possible, it goes by so quick!"

What was the most challenging part about planning your wedding?

"Making decisions and choosing the guest list!"
