Emily and Dan's wedding day was pure elegance. Located at the stunning Paso Robles wedding venue Terra Mia, the day was peppered with classy and romantic details at every corner. Everything was executed perfectly by their talented vendors including San Luis Obispo wedding coordinator Blush and Twine Event Designs, Paso Robles wedding florist Mauna Floral, and San Luis Obispo photographer Kristyn Villars Photography. I had the pleasure of interviewing the bride about the big day.

Their Love Story

"Dan and I both lived in New York City, working in restaurants. I visited one of my co-workers at his other restaurant, and after a few (many) margaritas, lamented that I was ready for a guy who wanted something serious. He thought for a while, and then the next day called me and said "I have a guy for you". Fast forward to 5 years later, that mutual friend was our officiant!"

The Inspiration

"Firstly we were inspired by Paso Robles. We both in food and beverage, so we knew that would be the focal piece for us. We knew we wanted long, farmhouse tables, with a family style dinner that everyone could enjoy together. From there, we chose rustic furniture with accents of gold that kept it modern, and of course, an emphasis on wine!"

Color Palette

"Mauve, moss green, plum"

The Details

"The champagne wall seriously kept me up at night- who would pour the champagne?! Would the custom name tags I made fit on the glasses?! I probably panic called my planner 5 times about this dang champagne wall, but in the end it was my favorite feature."

Memorable Moments

"Our photographer brought us out to the vineyards for our couple portraits, and it seriously was the most special moment. Dan and I were able to be goofy, run around the vines, and just be lovey with each other, and it felt like no one was watching! We also decided not to do a first look (Dan's decision!) and I will never forget that moment of walking down the aisle and seeing his face. He started crying, then mouthed "so beautiful" to me, and then I was crying and it was game over."

Knowing what you know now... what advice would you have for other brides planing their wedding?

"Take some time together, with just you and your new husband or wife! It seriously is the most amazing feeling, make sure you take a few minutes to go "oh my god, we're married!" Also, eat dinner. Our planner literally swatted people away that tried to talk to us while we ate, and it was the best thing. It's a marathon, not a sprint!"
