What advice do you have for brides when it comes to preparing a spray tan before their wedding day?

"I recommend getting a trial tan done, it is perfect to schedule them for a bridal shower and/or bachelorette party so that way you can be relaxed and confident in your tan for your wedding. With a trial tan you can then decide if the color is perfect or if you would like to be darker or lighter for your wedding. This way there is no need to be nervous at the appointment in the days leading up to your wedding. I also recommend having a dress fitting scheduled for a day or two after the trial tan so you can see the color with the shade of your dress. This may help you decide on the depth of color you would like."

Are there any specific skincare routines or preparations that clients should consider leading up to their spray tan appointment?

"The week of your appointment you should exfoliate and moisturize your skin each time you shower. Then the evening before your appointment or at least 6 hours before, do a deep exfoliation of your skin using a Kessa Mitt. This will remove all dead skin cells leaving fresh skin or the solution to adhere to giving you an even and long-lasting tan."

How far in advance of the wedding day should a client schedule their spray tan appointment, and why is timing important?

"I always recommend getting your tan 2 days before your event. Tans always look their best a day or two after the appointment as this gives the tan time to fully develop and time for any corrections if needed."

What tips do you have for brides who want a natural-looking tan without any streaks or uneven color?

"Follow the skin prep & post care to a T! The perfect tan is 50% quality solution and application and the other 50% your prep and aftercare."

How long does a spray tan typically last, and what can clients do to prolong the life of their tan through the wedding festivities?

"Spray tans last anywhere from 7-12 days depending on your skin and your after care. I highly recommend moisturizing 1-2 a day (the more the better) and using a tan safe soap and lotion to help not break down the tan. Also you can use a tan extender lotion every other day which has 2-3% DHA in it to help keep the tan looking fresh longer."

What should clients do if they encounter any issues with their spray tan, such as uneven color or fading?

"Contact your spray tan artist as soon as you notice anything. I always check in after a client's first rinse. That way if any issues arise I can either easily correct it for you or if it's a simple at home fix I can give tips and advice on how to make it perfect. Sometimes it just hasn't been rinsed thoroughly and you need to hop back in for another rinse."

Can you share any memorable stories or experiences of brides or grooms who received a spray tan for their wedding day?

"My favorite was a bride who came for her trial tan and was a little nervous as it was her first spray tan. She mentioned a family member told her not to get one because she will be orange or have funny looking hands and feet... Well, she LOVED her tan and after her wedding told me that same family member was shocked and couldn't believe her glow was fake because of how natural the tan looked even on the hands and feet."

Are there any specific do's and don'ts after getting a spray tan, especially in the days leading up to the wedding?

"Yes, get your nails, waxing, hair, and any other pre-wedding appointments done at least a day before your spray tan so your skin is nice and clean and free of any residue."
