Shannon and Devin had the ultimate swoon worthy wedding fit for the rodeo loving souls. Every detail was hyper curated to this couple's wild love for one another! Read on to hear about their love story and how San Luis Obispo Wedding Vendors came together to bring their vision to life.
"We got married on my family's ranch in Morro Bay, so of course it was always going to be "western" in nature. But I also have a more funky, modern style, so I really wanted to highlight that with our lounge furniture, disco balls, neon signs, etc! And we wanted to pull in the "cowboy hat" theme, given that that is such a big part of our lives and Devin's career. So the style evolved over time, but we ended up with a somewhat random western - ranchy - funky - boho theme that reflected both of our personalities perfectly!" -Shannon
How did y'all meet?
"I am from a deep-rooted rodeo family, and Devin works for Stetson cowboy hats, so we met at a rodeo, of course! I went to a rodeo in Dallas to watch my brother-in-law compete, and we ended up sitting in Devin's company's suite in the stadium. I was so sure he was "the one" immediately, I made him perform a pretend "wedding ceremony" with me right there in the suite! A year later, he proposed on a rooftop in Nashville in front of all our friends, it was epic!" -Shannon
Central Coast Wedding Photography Elizabeth Hay left both Shannon and Devin in awe of how she captured their wedding day so impeccably.
"I have known Beth for a while and never even considered another photographer. She is so chill, fun and takes extraordinary photos. We developed a special friendship over the course of our wedding and I will forever be so grateful that she captured our day so perfectly. Far Wester Tavern catered our food; their staff was incredible and the food is still being talked about! Also One Hundred Chairs with the lounges and specialty rentals - Holly was so accommodating, not at all pretentious and executed her vision with grace and enthusiasm.. I cannot imagine our wedding without her! Joe & Martina (our band) turned our wedding into the 90s dance hall of our dreams! " -Shannon

Makeup and Hair was provided by San Luis Obispo Wedding Beauticians, The Queen's Bees.
Sweet gifts given to one another before the ceremony.
The newly Marcum's went with a vibrant color palette filled with yellows, oranges, and rusted tones.
"Our band came all the way from Nashville, and I always have the most fun whenever I see them play, so I was certainly excited for epic live music (and they did not disappoint!). I was also very excited for the unbelievable lounges that Holly from One Hundred Chairs curated and designed. I put all my faith in her, and she brought everything from Arizona and transformed our "tent in a field" to an absolute dream. Also, my dad dreamt and designed the platform we got married on and the arch and entryway we walked through, which he built using rocks and manzanita branches he found all over our ranch. It was gorgeous and so, so special." -Shannon
Memorable Moments
"We borrowed a vintage (very cool) Cadillac that my dad drove him and I down to the ceremony in, and just as we were approaching the site he spun a couple donuts with just him and I in the car and everyone watching! (He used to be a stunt driver and executed it perfectly.) It perfectly set the tone for our day, because we are not sappy, emotional people and just wanted this day to be full of FUN and laughs." -Shannon
Advice from the bride
"I swear I heard this a million times, but it's so true. DO NOT stress about the small stuff. It doesn't matter! Your day goes by so freaking fast (heard that a lot too!), you won't look back and fret about something in the wrong place or where people sat. You'll remember how much you smiled and laughed and that you got to marry the love of your life with all your favorite people surrounding you. I'd give anything to go back and eat more donuts and dance more dances :)" -Shannon
