Cristina and Kyle tied the knot on a gorgeous fall day in Arroyo Grande, California. The property is full of enchanting oak trees, giving the wedding a perfect photo backdrop for every core memory, including the mariachi band and glow sticks on the dance floor. The details of the day were executed perfectly by Central Coast wedding planner Jade Preciado Events. Colorful and inspiring florals by the Arroyo Grande florist Cory's Cottage Garden highlighted the venue and the talented San Luis Obispo photographers Poppy and Vine were there to capture it all.

Their Love Story

"We've been together almost 7 years and we met working for the same construction company, we worked together for about a year and Kyle decided to switch careers and become a firefighter and we decided to test us out. We spent most of the early years of our relationship traveling all over the world so once the pandemic hit it slowed us down and just brought us closer to the next step of wanting to get married. He actually proposed on our first real trip post pandemic, we took our parents down to Todos Santos in Baja and he proposed one evening while we were watching the sun go down. It was perfect because the moment was just the two of us and we were able to share it with our parents right after when they joined us to head to dinner. But I think the biggest part of our story is our connection with the central coast and why it was such a perfect opportunity to get married there. While we live in the Bay Area, my husband works for Cal Fire in Slo County, his parents live in AG and I went to Cal Poly and always wished I could have stayed. It just holds such a special place for us and the fact that my in laws had the perfect property for it, I couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else."

Inspiration

"I really wanted something relaxed and intimate, with it being fall and having all of the gorgeous oak trees dotted around the property the rust and olivey/sage green just felt like the perfect complement."

The Details

"I was most excited about the little lounge areas we set up, it was one of the features I wanted most just to create that cozy and relaxed atmosphere. I also really loved the DIY details, I made the name plates and table numbers and it was such an effort but also was exactly what I wanted and the look I was going for."

Memorable Moments

"I think just realizing as I sat there being surrounded by all of our loved ones in a place that means so much to us that we will always be able to go back to and relive is probably the most memorable for me. But also the father/mother daughter and mother son dances, for us being only children it meant a lot to our parents to have that moment with us."

Knowing what you know now... what advice would you have for other brides planing their wedding?

"Hire the wedding coordinator and day of staff!! I am a control freak when it comes to presentation especially with all of diy things I did. I was fairly skeptical of hiring someone and hiring additional staff to help but it was the best investment I could have made. Jade was amazing and the criu staff was great I didn't worry or even think about a single thing that entire day and was able to be fully present which was great."

What was the most challenging part about planning your wedding?

"The distance, it's only three hours away but it took multiple trips of takings down to my in laws house and trying to make sure on the last trip that I didn't forget anything."
