As a Filipino Asian American running MDL Events, he is proud of the roots he came from. As a young boy living on The Central Coast of California. he has always had a passion to make beautiful things and help others grow. As he grew older, Mark found his spark in Designing and Planning which lead to starting his own business.

How did you get started doing what you do?
Growing Up I've always had a passion for design.I would watch my grandmother design her garden as she would plant these beautiful array of flowers. Because of her and as I grew older I knew I wanted to get into design but didn't know what kind or type. In 2018 thats when I decided to start Wedding/ Event Planning, Design and Floristry.

Who or what continues to inspires you?
I would say my Grandparents and Parents continue to inspire me. I come from a family of Immigrants who immigrated from the Philippines to America back in the 70s for a better life. My Grandparents now run or Family Business with the help of my parents and this shows me that through hard work and determination, anything is possible.I would also say the people in The Wedding Industry Inspire me as well. Whether it's a photographer, florist, videographer, rental company, wedding planner, you name it. Everyone is so talented in their own different way.

What makes your business unique?
As a person who didn't major in design and went into the medical field. I would say that my business is unique as these talents were given to me naturally. I learn by doing.

Favorite part of a wedding?
This is a hard one! There are so many amazing parts of a wedding. I would say my favorite part is the 30 minutes before The Guest Arrive. This is where I start getting nervous and I start putting my last minute touches and magic touch and get to show my couple what we have created for their Wedding Day. At the End of The Day I just want my Couple and Their Guest to have the time of their lives!

Why do you do what you do?
Working in the Medical Field I've always helped and cared for others. And what better way to branch out and incorporate this by helping couples plan their Big Day. I do this because I want my couples to have the best time and create endless memories.

What question do you always ask the Bride & Groom?
I always ask them How Did you two meet? I love to get to know my couples and incorporate small details from their first date, first kiss, etc.. into their wedding day as this adds a special touch

What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?
I would say my greatest accomplishment would be booking my first wedding back in 2018. I was very young and not very known in the industry back then and just having that first Wedding Proved to me that I'm going somewhere with my life with the passion I love doing.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?
On my day off I love to explore! Sometimes I'll take a day trip up the coast with my friends and just soak in what mother nature has gifted us. If you see someone roll down a hill its probably me. I've rolled down multiple places in Big Sur with how clumsy I am.

Tell us about your first job?
My First Job was actually filling paper works and shredding paper works for our Family Business. After getting so many paper cuts I decided maybe I don't want to do this for a living. I was only 16 at the time.

Tell us one thing few people know about you?
I can sing Very High notes in Opera. One of my many hidden talents only a few people have heard.

Wedding trend that you're loving right now?
A Wedding Trend I'm loving right now are destination Elopements in the most beautiful places around the world.

Favorite quote?
"Make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do"
― Brian Tracy

Wedding trend that will hopefully be out next year?
I don't think this Wedding Trend will ever go away but I would Say Rustic and Farmhouse Weddings.

What's in the top 5 of your bucket list?

1. Finish nursing school and become a nurse practitioner

2. Plan a destination wedding

3. Go on a road trip across the US

4. Expand my business to great lengths

5. Live a happy life!

Where do you see yourself (or business) in the near future?
In the near future I hope to see my business expanding as I took a big risk and went for it knowing that I didn't have much experience in this industry from the start and seeing how much it has grown and benefitted me has inspired me even more to keep keep pushing. I hope to expand my business and services maybe to a different country and have destination Weddings and Events.
